Much of the art work in the Arts is Asian, both contemporary and antique,
and the artist is unknown. However, we also have an interesting selection
of art by contemporary artists from New Orleans and other parts of
the U.S. The following is a list of the artists whose work is displayed
at the Arts along with some information about the artist and how to
find more of their work.

Ehlenberger,
Eric
- your host. Most of the neon artwork in the Arts is his. More of
his work can be seen at glassLight
gallery in the French Quarter and at his studio/gallery, Venusian
Gardens, just 3 blocks from the Arts.

Friang, Michel
- a photographer currently residing in New York City. The subjects
of his striking photographs are often scenes and events from Japan
and other places around the world.

Graubarth,
Jon
-
Fine art photographer, digital artist and image editor. Voted "#1
Best Visual Artist" by Gambit Weekly's Best of New Orleans reader's
poll 2001.

Guste,
Colette
- Her ceramic tile art is based on digital photography -- uniting
the modern and the traditional. Her photography color manipulations
in prints and on ceramic tile murals showcase simple and exquisite
details -- the colors of a hanging banana palm, cracks in the French
Quarter's weathered brick walls, the vibrancy of a Mardi Gras marching
band, the simple elegance of a lantern on a French Quarter wall.

Miller, Rodman
- a neon and hot glass artist living in Seattle, Rodman has developed
his own unique style of working hot glass that reflects a lifelong
awe and reverence for the beauty of glass.

Roach,
Carola
- a graduate from the Masters in Fine Arts, Glass, at Tulane Univ.
Roach's work in glass is innovative with beautiful flowing lines.
Sladovich, Lane
- Now living outside Adelaide, Australia, Lane has been working with
light sculpture for many years and is again beginning to focus on
neon as a medium for her work.

Soulas,
Jacques
- Soulas' paintings generally focus on the local scenery of New Orleans,
including beautiful landscapes along Bayou St John near his home.
Soulas is also a local restauranteur, the owner in partnership of
Cafe Degas,
a fabulous French Bistro style restaurant serving French and Creole
food on Esplanade Ave, very near the New Orleans Museum of Art. Of
no importance but perhaps of slight interest is the fact that the
neon sign at Cafe Degas is the second neon sign ever made by Ehlenberger
when he first started learning neon in 1982.
Soulas is represented in New Orleans by Sylvia
Schmidt Gallery

Stock,
Christian
- Stock is a graduate of the Masters in Fine Arts, Glass, program
at Tulane Univ. While working full time as studio manager at Venusian
Gardens, Christian also continues to pursue his own direction in cast
glass sculpture, often in an industrial style referencing bridges,
cranes and other mechanical images. He has also produced works in
neon.

Zolotnitski,
Elena
- Zolotnitski is an extraordinarily talented painter who immigrated
to the US from Moscow during the perestroika of the '80's. Currently
residing in Berkeley, CA., Zolotnitski paints in a style of fantasy,
suggestive of Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland while still retaining
her roots in classic Russian painting.
