The contemporary art scene in the Marigny and adjacent Bywater community
is rich and varied. In the immediate neighborhood of the Arts Bed
and Breakfast, there is a strong contingent of glass studios and artists
working with glass. Closest is Venusian
Gardens, the studio and gallery of Eric Ehlenberger, your host
at the Arts. Ehlenberger is an artist working in neon, glass and metal
and his sculpture is seen throughout the Arts B and B. Also working
out of Venusian Gardens are Christian
Stock working
in cast glass and Leah Bellamy a lampworker specializing in beautiful
goblets.
Nearby is Mercury
Injection, the studio and gallery of Michael Cain, another artist
working in blown glass and neon who produces beautiful and unique
sculpture. Just two blocks from Michael's studio is Studio
Inferno, a glass productions facility and glass complex that was
founded in November 1991 and produces glass works including a line
of unique blown and cast glass items and sculpture. Several well known
artists work out of Studio Inferno including its original founder,
Mitchell Gaudet, and Jim Vella.
The following is a list of private studios and artists working in
the neighborhood of the Faubourg Marigny and the Bywater community.
The list is incomplete at this time and the art venues continue to
grow in numbers, so please check back on a regular basis for updates.

the turn of the last century. (Mucha, considered the Father of Art
Nouveau, refused to use the term. 'Art is eternal, it cannot be new'
